Annual Microcurrent Conference (formerly Mircocurrent Case Conference) started in 2007 and is to bring together the very diverse groups microcurrent practitioners. The purpose of this conference and trainings is to unite the microcurrent community, bring together leaders in the field of microcurrent applications and technologies, help to expand each other’s knowledge and benefit all practitioners, patients and the whole community.

The Annual Microcurrent Conference began in 2007 when Dr Ed Kondrot created a conference to highlight the wonderful, early Cases that practitioners were producing with Frequency Specific Microcurrent. He also established an open mindedness to ‘all things bio-energetic’. Dr Kondrot passed the torch to national instructor and leader in the field, Vanessa LK Howe, MSPT in 2017. Today, Vanessa has evolved the conference to include more National Level Expert Lecturers, while still maintaining the Case Presentations and the commitment to including additional awareness of other Resonance based Bio-Energetic Medicine modalities. Additionally, the early days allowed for non-practitioners to also have access to our conference with the hope that we could reach and educate an interested public with the amazing results and advancements in the Microcurrent world! Today, we still maintain this policy and embrace the passionate non-practitioners that join us each year!

Our Chairperson for 2020:
Vanessa Howe is a Physical Therapist by trade who has been teaching, mentoring and developing innovative equipment since the early 2000s. She joins us again this year as the Chair of the Conference and will end the conference with her typical ‘wrap up and bring home’. She will be moderating the presentations, but will be joined by the amazing Dr. John Shieh.

Vanessa Howe, MSPT USA (Chair)
Vanessa Howe, MSPT is a physical therapist and pioneer in the area of Resonance Based Technologies. She integrated microcurrent (Frequency Specific Microcurrent-FSM) into her Physical Therapy practice in 2005. Since then, she has been a national instructor who is viewed as an innovative programmer of both current (electrical stim) and magnetic fields (pEMF). She has taught physicians, therapists, and trainers from all over the world. She is regarded as one of the foremost authorities in use of microcurrent for athletic injuries, both working directly with and consulting with some of the top athletic cases in the country. Vanessa works with athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, Olympic Sports of gymnastics, soccer, NHL, and many NCAA sports. Meanwhile her clinic continues to serve a general pain population in the northern suburbs of Detroit, Michigan.
Vanessa is an active speaker in the area of Microcurrent, as well as Resonance and BioEnergy Medicine. She has been a highlighted Keynote Speaker for this conference for the past 4 years. She joins us this year as a co-chair.
Shannon Goossen, AP, LMT, CMTPT USA
Shannon Goossen, AP, LMT, CMTPT is president of Comprehensive Myofascial Therapy Associates, established in 1996. She recently led a team of pain practitioners transitioning a new medical microcurrent device into the pain management community. She teaches nationally about FSM (Frequency Specific Microcurrent) and offers web based training opportunities through www.FrequenciesthatMEND.com.
Shannon is a Licensed Acupuncture Physician, Licensed Massage Therapist and Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist. Shannon has a bachelor degree in Biology and graduated from Hendrix College in 1986. She is licensed in Florida to practice Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture and Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy. Shannon graduated from the Pittsburgh School of Pain Management (1997) and from the Classical Acupuncture Institute in 2001. She is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (Diplomate), the Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy National Board, and the Academy of Integrative Pain Management (Fellow). As a recognized national expert in treating myofascial pain and dysfunction, she expanded her clinical practice by completing her AFMCP (Applying Functional Medical in Clinical Practice) training through the Institute for Functional Medicine. This certificate allows Shannon to broaden and offer additional health care modalities for her most complex patients. She is also an active student to complete functional medicine certification through the Functional Medicine University program. Over the last 16 years, Shannon has collaborated with interventional radiologists, neurosurgeons, and orthopedic spine surgeons, demonstrating the effectiveness of applying integrative medicine concepts in clinical practice and during pre and post-operative periods with enormous success. She is a contributing writer to two textbooks (Clinical Mastery in the Treatment of Myofascial Pain 2004, Clinical Application of Neuromuscular Techniques 2005) and has had several articles published on spinal disorders, myofascial pain and dysfunction and clinical evaluation.
Carolyn Waygood ND, CNHP
Carolyn is a Board Certified Doctor of Naturopathy, certified through the American Naturopathic Medical Certification Board (ANMCB), a Certified Natural Health Professional, Clinical Aromatherapist, Certified Pilates Instructor, and an FSM Practitioner. Carolyn has studied Energy Medicine for over 8 years and uses Frequency Specific Microcurrent extensively in her practice which is focused on educating & supporting her clients health and healing needs from a holistic physical, emotional, and spiritual perspective. Carolyn provides an extensive background in breast health, Diabetes & weight management, digestion & detoxification, post-surgery rehabilitation, and pain relief. She is an experienced public speaker & educator, a passionate supporter of Energy Medicine, and author of multiple articles published in the Journal of the American Naturopathic Medical Association.
Terry Zumwalt MD
Dr Zumwalt is an accomplished Gynecological surgeon with 40 years of experience and expertise. Her career evolved while treating abused women who were not adequately healing using traditional Talk Therapy. She is a proud US Navy veteran of ODS, and started on a RECON mission to find a “cure” for trauma. She reports that it took 30 years, but that the cure lies in Quantum physics and mitochondria medicine referencing research from cell biologists!!! George Lindenfeld PhD
George Lindenfeld, Ph.D. specializes in the treatment of traumatic life experiences. He served in the Navy Seabees completing his Residency in Medical Psychology at the University of Oregon Medical School in 1971. He holds a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology awarded by the American Board of Professional Psychology in 1980. He has been certified in EEG Biofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America and the Academy of Certified Neurotherapists. He has developed RESET Therapy, which has demonstrated rapid and enduring remission of the emotional aspects of PTSD. His intent in pioneering this intervention was to offer those veterans who continue to suffer from PTSD the promise of hope from a member of the healing profession! Dr. Lindenfeld does this in an effort to replace the erroneous belief that currently pervades many of our Veterans and professionals about PTSD being a lifelong psychic injury that cannot be healed. Trauma induced through Coronavirus among our First Responders can have similar effects to those encountered by combat-veterans. RESET offers the same remediative potential to this severely stressed population. Based upon five years of research including psychometric and qEEG brain map analyses, we postulate that chronic stress and trauma alters neuronal circuitry in the brain and body. Consequently, the modified circuit becomes stored in long-term memory in the Hippocampal brain region. For those with PTSD, a ‘top down – bottom-up’ cognitive change occurs wherein the individual shifts to a survival-based mode. In this model, executive functioning (Frontal Lobe) becomes secondary to instinctual reactivity. In the same manner, resilience is inversely affected and weakens accordingly. Selectively tuned in binaural sound has been found to be a key to unlock altered long-term stress/trauma memory resetting it to its prior state. RESET therapy is proving to be an effective, non-invasive intervention that restores resilience in both the mind and body. Research finding will be presented to support this conclusion.
